Honouring The Duke of Edinburgh

Following the announcement on Friday 10th April, the flag at St Mary Magdalene is flying at half-mast.

A framed photograph of Prince Philip sits on a table close to the altar. A candle is lit and a special prayer rests alongside.

It is with great sadness that, under strict Government Covid rules we are unable to open a book for parishioners to inscribe their condolences. Instead villagers are invited to light a small candle in Prince Philip's memory and as a thanksgiving for his remarkable life of loyal service to the Queen and to the nation.

There is an online Book of Condolence at:  https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-his-royal-highness-prince-philip

................................................................................................................................................................

We are delighted to welcome everyone back to church for live services but please ensure social distancing and wear a mask. Also please leave quickly and quietly once our service is finished.

We continue to pray especially for all nations tackling Coronavirus, for persecuted Christians abroad
and for the populations of East Africa & Pakistan whose crops are being devastated by locusts.

Years Mind:  Edna Blake, Maurice Akeroyd, Gary Chalwin and Doreen Coupland

Intercessions:  Please continue to pray for those who are sick and in need within our families and community especially -
Louise Carter, Margaret Fuller, Fred Harrison, John Higinbotham, Michael Hudson, Dennis Knight, Rita List, Trevor and Lucy Mitchell, Annabel Moir, Rodney Pratt, David Robins, Jenny Scofield, Steven Stone, Mike Vidler, Hudson Wiggins and all those carers locally who quietly carry out their duties with little support and no respite available at this time.

Rodney Pratt is now being cared for at home. David Robins is now at the Kleinwort Centre for rehabilitation.
